Our theme park is now
open for the 2010 season. We again offer this great school field trip opportunity
and the prices remain the same as this year.
Time Travel
with your students to an 18th Century village in the Netherlands. Our
costumed guides will share with your students a variety of Dutch
customs, traditions, and occupations including: life on a Frisian
farm, cheese making, wooden shoe carving, and weighing commodities.
Plus, during their free time, students will be able to try on wooden
shoes, hand crank a street organ, feed and pet farm animals, ride
a carousel and a spinning chair swing ride. Guided tours are included.
Educational Tours 2010!
Guided Tours for Grades K-2 and 3-5 are now
designed to correspond with several strands from the Social
Studies Curriculum of the
Michigan Curriculum
Framework Benchmarks and Standards.
Tours for grades K-2 include:
- Observing life in an 18th Century village in "Old Holland."
- Listening to stories of fictitious and real Dutch characters.
- Understanding why the Dutch wore wooden shoes and "Dutch" costumes.
- Learning Dutch words and phrases.
Tours for grades 3-5 include:
- A film on the Dutch settlers' immigration to Holland and major events of Holland's past.
- Learning how the Dutch people adapted to their environment in the following areas: food, clothing, shelter, and occupations.
- Identifying items invented and developed by the Dutch that are still used today.
All students will receive:

Guided tours are available from April 24th until September 8th.
Please allow one hour for guided tour and additional time for eating, shopping and exploring. Picnic areas for sack lunches are located throughout the park. Space is limited, so please book well in advance of date requested. Nelis' Dutch Village programs operate rain or shine.
