We had the most wonderful time and enjoying the recreation of the Netherlands and speaking Dutch and English to some of the people there who were just so wonderful and very friendly. Looking forward to returning again soon.
The many different and unique organs were very educational and provided great music. The owners were eager to share stories of their history and worked hard to crank the instruments. It was so interesting that we came back again on Sunday. We hope that COAA will make an annual visit to Holland.

All of us on the bus that day enjoyed the pastry so much and our time spent walking around the Village and visiting the shops was truly special. I hope that you are not too deep in snow or too friged in temperatures.We have had a miserable winter but not nearly as bad as you get in Michigan. Hi Celeste, Just a few lines to update you, we did
visit your DUTCH
VILLAGE over this past weekend and had a fabulous time.... learned
to dutch dance and all....had a great time....found
everyone to be so very friendly and helpful.... from the very nice
lady taking money and giving out tickets in your parking lot to the "dutch" costumes
folk walking around to the people in the shops.... we thoroughly
enjoyed our visit and got to chit chat with your shoemaker, Gary....who
was very helpful and knowledgeable.
All in all we had a great time, brought back home some cheese and
some strompwaffels and some speculas'.... and lots and lots of pictures....
in closing we would like to thank all of you at DUTCH VILLAGE for
a very nice experience.
Oh yes, one more thing.....we took your
advice and stayed at OAK GROVE RESORT....it was great, Thanks again.
The gentleman that I corresponded with was very gracious and quick to respond. He went out of his way to make sure that the tiles that I ordered arrived on time for Mothers Day. They were gorgeous and perfect. I will defiantly shop with them again!
This merchant was extremely timely and customer service oriented, even though wooden shoes that fit would seem to be a tough item to buy online. The manager of the store was in constant touch with me to answer any questions that I had. It helped that our family had been to the bricks and mortar store in Holland, Michigan, and that we already had purchased items on site on many of our vacations to the area. It is a stand up operation and a great village atmosphere. The wooden shoe store is one of our favorite places to go in SW Michigan. Never been during tulip season, but have heard it is a must see.
After I ordered the shoes - using the size chart they gave, my mother thought she should have a larger size. I emailed them and and told them the situation. They the made the change. It was effortless for me. They emailed me back concerning the change and also called and left me a message. Turned out their size chart was correct and my mother was wrong. They made the exchange very easy for us. I never experienced better customer service anywhere. They were very kind, polite, and helpful. The shipping took only a few days. It was about the easiest shopping I ever did.
I wish I could rate their customer service higher than a 5----they were SO friendly and accommodating, it was just a wonderful experience all the way around. I now have gorgeous Delft tile in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier. I hope to do business with them again in the near future.

Nelis Dutch Village emailed me several times to confirm my preferences for timing of the shipment and to keep me informed of tracking of the shipment. My mother enjoyed receiving for Mothers Day the gift basket of Dutch snacks and the small Dutch shoes with her name on the shoes. We have relatives in the Holland area and always come to visit since 1972. In order to keep the Texas-Michigan connection, we came up to visit this summer and I took my 16 year old daughter to the traditional trip to Dutch Village. I love to watch the candle making and wooden shoe demonstration. We enjoyed it and had many laughs taking pictures with the giant wooden shoes. I hope to retake her photo in those shoes for years to come.
I've worked with the groups of children for a long time. Over the years, I have taken the kids to visit your village many times. But I wanted to tell you that I've never had as wonderful a time as we had this year. The staff was very helpful as well as engaged with the children throughout our visit. We were able to relax as we explored the Dutch heritage & traditions you share, so everyone was able to learn so much more. The petting farm worker was very patient & spent extra time talking with the kids, which so many of them couldn't wait to share with their parents that night. The younger group of children were chattering about it yet today as they wanted to make a poster about their visit. Whatever has caused these changes to occur, please keep going. I want to come back with my own personal family for a visit. Where else could we find such family-friendly surroundings and gracious hosts? Thank you for a memorable day!
When i went to dutch village this year with my family i had an amazing time i met some amazing and funny people who worked there, one who was named Mark. he was really nice and funny he was showing how they made wooden shoes! i would have loved to get his email so we could chat cause all the people there were wonderful!!! everyone should go here at least once in there lives if not for the tulip times but for the amazing people that work there!!
"I have been to the village a number of times starting when I was 4 years old, I am now 43. Every time I travel to Michigan I make an attempt to at least drive by to see its wonderful buildings. This was one of my mother’s favorite places to go and the summer after her death I visited the Dutch village. To my surprise and heart felt joy, since my mother planned and was suppose to be on that trip with us, in one of the buildings sat a pair of wooden shoes that had the name Sue on them and this was my mothers name. It is a place well worth visiting."
